GardnerSpencer Smith Tench & Jarbeau, PC was challenged to create a new image for this performing arts facility including acoustical and aesthetic enhancements for the existing 285-seat Carol A. Carter Recital Hall as well as a new lobby for patron gathering prior to cultural functions. Coweta County Library – Main Branch

The design takes full advantage of the natural beauty of its lakeside setting and is based upon a retail model – with a vending café, comfortable seating towards the front, and a self check-in and -out. The adult wing consists of typical stacks and reference, research tables, a quiet room, two group study rooms, and a teen/young adult area. The children’s wing has typical stacks, a craft/science area, a “story hour” room, and a learning garden. The third wing is the circulation and staff wing which maintains a strong visual control within the library. A technology center and multi-purpose community room that seats 50 people comprises the fourth wing of the facility. Read More >
