The primary purpose of this project was to continue Coweta County’s economic development that had begun with the expansion of the Newnan-Coweta County General Aviation Airport. The new hangars, constructed for tenant WarDaddy Aviation, are significantly larger than the existing hangars (small “T” type hangars). The tenant has built a fantastic business servicing and housing Gulfstream aircraft for notable Atlanta companies such as Mellow Mushroom, Chick-fil-A, and Tyler Perry Studios. The largest aircraft to be stored is a Global 7500 Bombardier. Each structure houses an aircraft hangar as well as an adjacent “lean-to” with shop spaces, parts storage, a charging room for aircraft batteries, administrative offices, and conference rooms. The hangars are code-classified as Group II, with closed head water sprinkler fire protection.
