The fondness and esteem with which the owners and community hold this 1955 Phillip Tramell Schutze bank, presented this project with a unique design challenge. Great care was taken to exactly duplicate the original fenestration, the brick and mortar color and the cornice lines of the Schutze façade. On the addition, however, the roof forms and façade are manipulated so as to accentuate the beauty of the 1950’s bank while subtly defining the new wing. Thus, the original façade continues to work as a strong design statement on the main street corner of this small middle Georgia town.
